Forest of Bowland Glamping

The client is looking to develop the site to offer a unique holiday destination with a feeling of simplicity, a haven for peace and tranquillity. The site is located in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a nationally protected landscape and internationally important for its heather moorland, blanket bog and rare birds. The Wyre Local Plan utilises The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Landscape Character Assessment 2009 as a material consideration in planning decisions. The landscape surrounding the site is largely in tact and the Authority will seek to retain these characteristics and disallow any development that would cause landscape harm as views within AONBs are protected. By studying the surrounding area, views are assessed and ideas are based from this.
Reed Studio developed four options based on distinct concepts that are intrinsically stitched into the site; Meltwater, Washfold, Green Roof, and Plantation all with an understanding of the site and views of the site in mind.
